The Best Ultrasonic Diffusers That I’ve Used
Personally, I prefer an ultrasonic essential oil diffuser for my home due to the following reasons:
- It produces cool mist
- The production of mist is longer than heat and evaporative diffusers
- The unit lasts longer
Ultrasonic diffusers use high-frequency vibration to create the aromatic mist. This is why the mist is finer and better compared to the other diffusers.
They don’t use heat too which makes the mist cool and the unit long lasting. I noticed that heat-producing units erode faster.
They also serve as humidifiers for winter months. In fact, I’m surprised for only having occasional colds in winter.
The only downfall for this type of diffuser is their price. Compared to evaporative and heat diffusers, ultrasonic diffusers are more expensive.
Moving forward, here is my review for some best ultrasonic diffusers I already used for my aromatherapy.
Note: You can see Top 10 best diffusers here, this is just my reviews for diffusers that I’ve used.
This is the most popular and the best ultrasonic diffuser I found online so I didn’t hesitate to try it out. It’s very lightweight and easy to use which makes it perfect for first timers. It’s not a noisy unit, but I did hear some faint bubbling sound when I was next to it. Nevertheless, it’s not satisfaction-breaking.
The LED lights change in colors on its own and you cannot fix it to a single color. There’s an on / off button if you want to keep its white appearance.
I didn’t use the LED lights feature mostly since I like to keep the lights dim at night.
The mist this unit produces is finer than other units that I’ve used. Unfortunately, the aroma of the oil can only reach two adjacent areas of my house. Anyway, the price fits any kind of budget so you can always purchase a second unit.
This is the ultrasonic oil diffuser that I like the most since it has the longest mist production time amongst the oil diffusers I tried. It lasts 8 – 10 hours which is not an issue at night because it automatically turns itself off at low water level.
The LED light feature has 3 options: off, breathe mode, and on. I really love the breathing mode where the light fades on and off. It creates a very soothing ambiance and aroma to my room which is highly relaxing.
It also brings the smell of the oil equally to my entire room. I didn’t find any area of my room where the aroma is weak or condensed (except in front of the unit, of course).
The only downside? The top part of the unit relaxingly sits on the base which makes it vulnerable from spilling over if accidentally tripped. So if you have kids or pets, make sure that they can’t play around this oil diffuser.
Now if you’re into savings, then this one is for you. This unit is the cheapest brand I could find on the internet, but it does the job pretty well. Unlike the first two units I tried, this only lasts for 3 hours of continuous usage.
I’m surprised for its 30 seconds on / 30 seconds off mode which extends that 3-hour mist production to 5 – 6 hours.
It comes with a 100 ml measuring cup when I bought it. According to the manual, the capacity of the unit is 120 ml.
The manual is quite challenging to understand due to the translation but if I was able to go through it, then it won’t be a problem to you too.
This unit might be the cheapest amongst its kind, but it can withstand citrus oils. I even used orange and lemongrass oils on this one and everything went well.
I can’t recommend a single ultrasonic essential oil diffuser without thinking that the other has an edge over another. They have pros and cons and you might even find a better unit than these three.
As for myself, I prefer the QUOOZ for my personal room since it has the most elegant design that matches my taste. The breathing mode also sets the relaxing ambiance I really like at night.
